Our suturing and wound closure workshop is a hands on practical experience focussing on common lacerations and wounds.
During the workshop participants will be taken through wound assessment, local anaesthetic instillation, cleaning and closure using sutures, wound adhesives and staples.
The workshop is delivered by experienced currently practicing health care professionals and nurse practitioners in small groups with plenty of hands on opportunity to practice a variety of techniques including interrupted suture and mattress sutures.
We will cover common lacerations of the extremities.
Each participant will be able to take their own practice suture pad and kit with them for continued practice and development in their own time.
The workshop is ideal for 3rd/4th year medical students, PGY 1- 4 doctors, Registered nurse working or upskilling to work in rural and remote.
