IV Cannulation Workshop

Our IV Cannulation Workshop is a combination of theory and practical training designed to give participants the skills and confidence to perform peripheral intravenous cannulation within their workplace clinical governance framework.

This 5-hour workshop covers:

• Indications, consent and documentation

• Anatomy, vein assessment and site selection

• Equipment preparation, infection control and cannulation technique

• Contraindications and complication management

• Understanding your scope of practice and determining what to administer

• Extensive skills practice on simulation equipment

• Individual practical assessment

Post-Course Requirement: Participants must complete five supervised IV cannulations in their workplace to achieve full competency.

Certification:

• Interim Certificate – issued upon completion of the workshop (completion of training).

• Final Certificate – issued once evidence of five supervised IV cannulations has been provided.

Minimum: 6 participants per course
Locations: Delivered on-site at your workplace, at a venue near your operations (e.g. airport facilities), or at our Lonsdale training centre.
